Use of Wiki

I thought that the Wiki is a great tool for certain projects. I think that for collaboration purposes its great because people don't have to be in the same physical location to work on a project. It's very easy to use. The only part I didn't like is that to the outside viewer its not viewable to see how much work each person has done. To the best of the outsiders knowledge one person could have written the entire thing and nobody would know. I think that as a teacher it would be a great tool for students working on a research paper to show their progress and to show how they reached their conclusion. Since Wiki is very interactive its easy to receive feedback from others and immediately act upon that feedback.

Brian may have more access than we do to the wiki. I did notice that it kept a log of who was editing and what kind of editing they were doing, for example, if all I did was link something then it said something like programming only when it emailed me the changes. And if someone changed print it showed me the changes. Did you not get emails on your WMU account?

I noticed a continuous log to the right of wiki page. It would state the amount of time classmembers were spending logged in editing as well as the last time they logged in. I also received an email every time I or my team memebers made a change on the wiki site. In fact, my email was full of editing changes. Hope this helps with keeping track of a person amount of help or lack of.
